In the US, the Grass Carp is commonly called the White Amur, probably because the phrase Carp holds negative interpretations here in the United States., and the word “Amur” refers to the river which the fish comes from, the river which runs the border between China and Russia.

The Grass Carp, is what’s known as an intrusive species, meaning that it will reproduce and overtake any ecosystem that it is placed into (sort of like humans), however science has progressed a long way, and though it took some time, and lots of gene manipulation, sterilizing a Grass Carp finally became standard everywhere in the world so that the integration doesn’t hurt or eradicate the ecosystem.

An additional thing to take into account, is that the Grass Carp doesn’t eat every kind of grass, of course it loves plant life, and will eat most of it, but just like with human being, there are things which it enjoys over others. A couple of the items that the Grass Carp will enjoy, are:
